Music lovers will likely recognize some of these iconic albums but may not know the man behind the cover designs, Michael Mendel. But before he was creating artwork for music royalty —the 92-year-old New Yorker fled Nazi Germany in the late 1930’s with his family. In honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, NBC News’ Sam Brock takes a look at how Mendel’s chance escape paved a pathway for an inspiring career.
